Manufacturing of Metal Products, Machinery and Equipment
The OSKA study in the sector of manufacturing of metal products, machinery and equipment was completed in the end of 2016.
The OSKA sector of manufacturing of metal products, machinery and equipment includes metalworking, mechanical engineering and the repair of machinery and equipment.
There are more than 2,000 metalworking and mechanical engineering companies operating in Estonia with more than 35,000 employees. The key industry in the sector is metalworking, which has one of the largest levels of production, after the food and timber industries. The machinery industry, however, is one of the most important growth areas and export accounts for the majority of its sales. The repair and installation of machinery and equipment as well as the manufacturing of metal products mainly target the domestic market.
The OSKA expert panel on Manufacturing of metal products, machinery and equipment consists of experts and visionaries from different companies, educational institutions and the public sector. The key partner of the Estonian Qualifications Authority in this sector is the Estonian Machine Industry Federation.
